This submission examines Sierra Leone’s progress in implementing transitional justice commitments incumbent on the authorities under the Lomé Peace Agreement (LPA) and international law. Sierra Leone has either acceded to or ratified a number of human rights treaties including the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), the Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman and Degrading Treatment or Punishment, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, and the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights.
